WHITNEY & JUSTIN | Dallas Wedding Photography - Venue at Waterstone

Yall. I haven’t blogged a wedding in over TWO AND A HALF years!! Since then, I’ve shot 100 weddings (yes, I counted), upgraded nearly all of my gear, changed my editing style to something more earthy and me, and have stopped worrying so much about the perfect pose and have started focusing on genuine moments.

SO MUCH has changed.

And yet so much is exactly same.

From the very beginning, when I’m photographing my couples’ weddings, engagements, and all those other special days, I’ve wanted three things for them: I want them to feel relaxed. I want them to have fun. And over the next sixty years, whenever they look at their wedding photos, I want them to think, yes, that’s US - that’s OUR story!

So, while the technical details might have changed a bit, my heart is still the same.

Now that I’ve blabbed about me, let’s talk about this awesome wedding. I’ve known Whitney since high school (I won’t mention just how long ago that was - eek!). She’s the little sister of one of my high school buddies, so I was absolutely stoked when she asked me to shoot her wedding. She’s such a sweetheart! No lie, I was feeling a little bit of those protective big-sister vibes, but the moment I met Justin at their engagement shoot, I knew he would take amazing care of Whitney. He couldn’t have been more kind, chivalrous, and charismatic. (He even made props!) Justin and Whitney were so sweet to each other and so excited to be married, and that spirit really pops in their photos.

The Venue at Waterstone was the perfect backdrop for their rustic chic barn wedding, and their staff could not have been more kind and accommodating. And as you’ll see, Wild Rose Events couldn’t have picked a better combination of romantic hues in her florals. That team is so freaking creative! And Whitney’s Maggie Sottero dress from Providence Place Bridal - to die for! Of course, a huge shout out to WZ Beauty Studio…between the happy tears and two-stepping, Whitney and her girls looked flawless and fresh all day long - even through the awesome party (brought to you by Blaine Mitchell, as seen on The Voice!). What a dream team!

Now, onto those photos…
